Get ready for my story

Hello world

More than just water

In Kenya, people are way happier with the tiniest of things. That's because they don't have our well known "luxuries. Just go to your kitchen and take water from the tap. Voila! There is instant water but in Kenya, people are not always lucky enough to have water. Sometimes they have to walk miles to a well.

You should not leave the tap running when you wash your hands or leave the shower on. Everything there you have to treat carefully, e.g. toilet paper, food....

In this photo, we were with the young mothers of KEBENE.

As you can see we are doing the dishes. So in a very different way... Not with electric appliances but with pots and taps with little running water. And especially a lot of teamwork!

PAST ACTIVITIES

Sharing differently

As you can guess, the food there is mostly rice with vegetables. For us a slightly less tasty dish but those kids there eat their plates with a lot of taste. Me and a few students sometimes had enough so we gave the plates to the kids and said, "To share. The kids loved each other and shared everything little by little. So what we as our society need to learn. We should not be jealous if one has a cookie more than another. We must learn to share in every situation.
